Mining for the silver lining

Friday night I hung out with a bunch of friends, who were all pretty pleased to see me.  Good times were had, in a fairly mellow way.

Saturday I watched Serenity and American Psycho, and had dinner with Tegin and Heatray.  We watched Beat Street, and headed out to a grad school party.  I danced to hip hop for a while, and got to see some of Tegin's cute classmates.  I can feel nostalgic now about college parties.

Sunday I watched a lot of commentary tracks on American Psycho, which gave a lot of good insight into the movie.  I like it more and more with each viewing.  I took a break to run my Exalted game, which the players liked a lot.  I ended the evening with a vicious beating at the hands of a friends WH army.  Ouch.

Today has been long, and frustrating.  Compared to a number of you, it's been nothing.

The outtakes were pretty damn funny!

I guess we'll just have to be happy with what we've got.
(and I am).

That movie left me with this sort of 'residue' feeling. So disturbing I felt what was almost a physical need to wash it off. But then, I tend to avoid the psychological ones, so meybe it's just a lack of exposure to the genre.

I'm hoping to hitch a ride to Ceremony. Are you going out?

The book is apparantly very much worse. I know a friend of mine read it, and his descriptions gave me no desire to. But I'm more intrigued by it now. I'd like to read the book now that I have the insights listening to the director and the screen writer.

I'll not be going out to Ceremony tonight. I need a little time in, I'm a bit under the weather.

I'm sure it would be fascinating to compare what the director was doing/intended to do with the film to what was done in the book. But books tend to stay with me longer than movies and I don't think I'd be comfortable with that under my skin for so long. Once again you are braver than I ;)
You will be missed this evening. I hope you feel better.
