New rule for 2006

Any evening where I get five hours of sleep or less will be followed by at least half a sick day.  Much like an illness, such a lack of sleep leaves me sore and achey, unable to concentrate, and very angry.  Anger, like illness, should not be spread to your co-workers.

This is generally reserved for times when you just can't get to sleep (like last night, when I got 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep). If you deliberately stay up all night, I'd say you have to take your lumps, but that still doesn't help anybody. Take the bloody day off. The world isn't going to end, and if you're that important you can probably work from home anyway. You lucky stiff.

A silent help desk is better than a cranky help desk!
(especially when said help desk can either crush you with heavy weights or ram into you at high velocity on roller skates!)

Four hours of sleep. Blech.
I hope this means you're taking your own advice right now.

Oh I wish.

I've gotten over the worst of it now, and lunch is imminent. I do predict another crash midafternoon, when I will grab some z's while imaging computers. (Look! I'm working! Stuff is getting done!)

How was Toast?

hush was also an option.

The movie wasn't the bad part so much, as the not being able to sleep for 2-3 hours after the movie was over!

it is almost like I responded to an email that wasn't really about me.

Yikes. The weird thing is that a lot of folks I know are having trouble sleeping recently. Most likely coincidence. Sleep problems are sadly, amazingly common. :(
How often do you suffer from sleeplessness?

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
fairly often? I have a hard time getting more that 7 hours during the week. Everytime I got tired last night, my body woke me up. I have some suspicions of what it could be.

Whatever it is, I wish you luck in fixing some of it. I know I'm a mess when I don't get regular sleep.
Sleeplessness is a sometimes problem for me. Some of it is part of my bodies regular rhythm, which if I'm mindful of, I can usually nip in the bud.
I find B-vitamins and 5HTP a big help.
