Good for something

I've been watching Gunslinger Girl (anime), and its okay. Not really gripping me, but not bad.
The opening song for it has completely captured me: hook, line, and semi-automatic weapon.
It's called "the light before we land", by the Delgados. I know what I'll be getting soon.

EDIT: I think I figured it out. It's very "one-shot" like, and I get more drawn in by longer story arcs. Has anyone seen it, and does it develop into a larger plot?

i've never seen Gunslinger Girl, but have been wanting to for a while...the DVD covers were too damned cute not to peak some interest ;P i think i'll still chance it, since "one-shotters" are often okay by me (as long as they're good. ish.)

They are good. The tone of the story grows nicely even if the plots are fairly contained. There's a nice level of pathos (naturally, for an anime).

I think you'll enjoy it!

I've heard it is a very good later down the line.

I'm definitely going to pick up the last disc, I just finished the 2nd and it has gotten more compelling.
