Brief notes from the weekend.

My ofdoom account is currently down, so I have to comb through LJ to find out if people responded to my posts.

Work moves forward then slips to stop.  Forward, stop.  Forward, stop.  It's good to see that I'm capable of goading myself into forward motion.  It's also nice that when everything slows to a crawl, my mind floats back to pleasant memories and I'm back against reliving them, and inventing new memories.  It's easy to tag the new ones from the old.  I'm glad that my downtime is filled with good memories, and not dwelling on anything unpleasant.

There is still a lot of food in our fridge from thanksgiving.  My appetite was pretty low during the weekend.  I'll try to get people's dishes back to them (cleaned, mind you) as soon as possible.  Drop me a reminder if you're missing anything.

Saturday was given over to loafing and resting, but I did make it out to Forest and Tegin's for pulpy action goodness.  I was first one in the door, and the last to leave.  I didn't think I'd make it all the way through to the Mummy, but I did.  How's that for fortitude?

Sunday: A tasty brunch, a melding of old and new faces, and the social scene becomes that much more intertwined.  There was time out for a quick visit, then back home for a viewing of Human Traffic with water_childe.  It's great to share that film with someone who's never seen it, and generally great to go back and relive the movie all over again.  It can be especially appropriate at times.  After HT there was pie, then more Firefly with theamazingjb, then a little desperate housewives and Grey's anatomy.  This marks the first time I've watched any cable on my television since we started paying for it.

Now it's Monday.  The routine begins again.  In a few days, I'll be firmly in it's grip.  Smooth rails that lead you to your destination, functioning on auto pilot yet again.  It's somewhat comforting, but not quite appealing.  I want bigger things to be afoot.  Unfortunately, winter is not the time from growth.  We appear to have a conundrum.

PS- FINALLY! Some serious forward momentum on Questionable Content. This is going to be good. Faye is braver than I it seems.

I left two pot holders in your kitchen (a red and white one and a Far From Heaven blue and white). Could you get 'em to Nicole at game this weekend?

I'll keep you apprised if the opportunity for bigger things opens up here.

Can do. Thanks for the offer too!

I find winter to be a great time for inner growth, where it seems like nothing changes on the outside, but slowly through cocooning, I get to work out things from the previous year and begin spring anew, in a different head space, and finally ready to move forward in action.

Although this year, I feel like I would *like* to be finished with my current cycle of growth, and ready to more forward actively right after New Year's.

Brunch: yes, more melding! It is a very busy soup. Do you know where I could possibly know Phil from? He looked extremely familiar, but I know I did not meet him through [livejournal.com profile] ivy_crown.

I guess there's always room for inner growth. It seems that a lot of that has been going on with me, lots of cocooning, and I want to change now. Too much time navel gazing can leave you with a curved spine! But that's all just a template. Change and growth come when they do, despite the season.

I don't know Phil terribly well, just as a friend of Ivy's. I think he's a musician, so you might have seen him at a bar, or one of Lena's events?

Agreed.

In the mood for some dancing tonight...?

I think I am! Watch for me out on the floor, I'm in the mood to hear some new things.

sorry I totally missed thanksgiving. I was comatose from exhaustion and just couldn't get out. of course, the next day, when I was slightly more rested, I regretted ditching. :(

We did notice your absence, and missed you. Hope you caught up on lots of sleep!

for me, every time I sleep, I remember stuff. It's like it all happened in dreamtime.

When I cast my mind back to some things, I can almost relive the moment. That can be disorienting, but it's also a fascinating experience.

And I have too much afoot. I have feet to spare. Would you like some? ;)

I sense that you may soon need all the feet you can spare. But, if you can spare them, sure!

I love the new MyLJ with it's "last 5 comments" bit...

It's pretty handy, until I start responding to people and fill up the list with all of my comments :)
