Harry Potter and the Goblet of Awesomness
No spoilers here.
It wasn't a perfect movie, all the time. There were awkward moments, some jangling scenes, a moment or two that was even painful. But then, I seem to recall adolescence was a lot like that. Many elements of the film were great, even though a lot of your favorite characters don't get nearly enough time. But you do get a lot of tastes. It was spookier, and grimmer. It was also surprisingly emotionally wrenching and heart breaking.

how do you think it compares to the third movie in terms of making sense to people who haven't read the books.
(I'm a bad geek)

I'd say you could follow it.

That being said, I think that repeated viewings will be very entertaining. It was far from a bad movie, it just wasn't perfect.
