jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)

Delirious? Lack of food? You decide

I just did a victory dance in my chair while humming "Jesus Christ Superstar" under my breath.

----------

I made my return to the gym last night, and it felt good.  Afterwards I got a surprise call from theamazingjb, who was in the neighborhood.  We camped out on the kitchen floor, drinking cosmos, while my roommate and her friend watched Oldboy.  I watched it the night before.  That movie is a keeper, but it is twisted!  Nicely shot, great music, and an extra helping of OhNoHeDidn't!

We were brave and watched Constantine afterwards.  I'm pretty sure I liked it, but it was late and I was fading in and out  a bit.  A second viewing will help me decide.  I never read the comic much, so I won't be pulling my hair out at all the things they "got wrong".
I remember Tilde Swinton made an awesome archangel.

Agreed on constantine
I was in an awake/sleep state
But I think I really liked it

It seemed decent, but I was fuzzy on why Gabriel wanted Mammon here, and why Lucifer wanted him back. Considering how DC portrays Lucifer, maybe Tilda should have played that part. The could have gotten Christopher Walken for Gabriel... no, wait, that's been done.

What I think happened

gabe wanted the son to bring mortals pain
The dev said "No way, I am the big man."

Has walken done God yet?"

Not quite. But he did a scary as hell mob boss in "Things to do in Denver when you're dead."

She is indeed awesome as "The Snob".

She's just awesome, period :)

This is also true. I can't wait to see her in "Lion, Witch, and Wardobe".

I still need to see Constantine. The concept of Keanu in that role still makes me twitch, I'll never really get over that, but I need to see it anyway.

PS - I don't consider humming Jesus Christ Superstar to nessarily be an indicator of either, but look at who that is coming from and draw your own conclusions. ;)

Yeah, I don't quite see it either. He does smoke like a fiend through the movie, so they got that part right. Apparantly, the miscast Chas as well.

Rachel Weisz is just excellent. Or is that edible?

Heh. I sing musicals. Heh.

well....it is a sort of...triumphant...sounding song....?
I dunno. I'm trying to come up with something for you here:)

It's hella triumphant, especially when you start substituting your name for Jesus' :)
