First Foreign Auto: warning

First i get the call from First Foreign Auto saying that besides a tune up, I need an O2 sensor, 2 rear tires, antifreeze and a timing belt replaced. Total cost? Around $1000.
Then the tell me the car won't be ready until tomorrow, but I can pick it up tonight so I can go for a doctor's appointment.
When I get home, the store is closed, even though the sign says open until 6:00.

!)*($&!*%$Y~!%(O!!()%!!!

I needed to get to that appointment. Goddamn them to Hell.

First Foreign Auto. Avoid it if you can. I should have stuck with Teele St. Auto, and will from now on.

They were pretty good with the problems my Pontiac had. My old roommate and I like them a lot.

uh oh, [livejournal.com profile] canongrrl has something to tell you about FFA. They are not the best, as it turns out.

Ah well. Live and learn. You remember the expensive lessons...

shit, I wish I saw this sooner, they are *so* bad. I go to Ideal Enigne in Davis Square - they replaced all the work first foreign did over the course of 6 months.

I'll have Teele give it a once over when I have THEM replace my timing belt.

Since when did you own my car?

Sounds like my last trip to the shop. Ouch.

I hate cars.

Definitely getting a bike next spring, but I won't sell the Silver Bullet yet. It's too useful for long trips and the like.

Most of the work is done now, I went to a new mechanic to replace my timing belt. I don't feel bad about it, since I'm due for a tune up anyhow and my maintenance book says it's time to change it.
