Two out of three ain't bad, when the one is so good.

General Gau's chicken for dinner: normally very good, tonight too much breading and sauce. Bad.
Land of the Dead: If this movie were made about 15 years ago it would have been great, but now it's just... uninspired. Disappointing (kinda bad)
Getting dinner and watching the movie with M, talking about naked people in the woods, and dissecting Land of the Dead and the Star Wars prequal with scalpels. Good (almost priceless, not quite precious)

I call this a win for the night. More on Land of the Dead tomorrow. If you must see it, rent it. It will be more fun at home with booze.

I want to see it again, but mainly to watch for the cameo's from "sean" and "ed" from sean of the dead. I'm torn on liking the movie. I didn't hate it, but I thought it didn't advance the zombie mythos much. Films like 28 days alter and the new dawn of the dead really turned up the horror, while sean found all the comedy (along with it's tributes to the earlier films). Strictly looking at it as an allegorical tale, it was interesting. I had a lot of little complaints, which just goes to show that I didn't get drawn into the atmosphere of the movie.

I'll have to discuss it more over cards some night, I was going to show up last night, but guess where I was instead?
