Getting what you paid for.

Blade: Trinity was absolutely worth my matinee price. In fact, I probably would have paid full price to see it. I certainly will own it, warts and all. Yes, there were parts that were rushed, or ignored, or contrived. This it be expected. I wanted some cool fight scenes, cool music, and the atmosphere of the Blade movies. And B:T delivered that. Jessica Biehl was actually hotter than expected, and Ryan Reynolds less annoying than expected. I don't mean to sound queer or nothing, but DAMN.

Dren proved to be the hero of the day in a climactic battle that took the lives of over 2/3 of the party, and a summoned celestial elephant. In a moment of pure cinematic brillance, Dren launched a feeblemind at the evil cleric we were commissioned to kill, and Heatray oblidged us by rolling a 1 for his save. I was prepared to pull a completely evil maneuver, but it depended on the death of Ebert, the hardy dwaven cleric, and I was convinced that I couldn't take him. So, Dren will continue to play the hero. For now. Until then, I got to bring out the scheming, yet cowardly and self-serving nature of the character, without making anyone want to kill him!

This is my last full week of contracting work. I'll put a few days in next week, but take time offf to visit the family and probalby to prepare for New Year's Day.

I've been very low key in my evil... and keeping a lid between my inner and outer voice.

It's very odd to me personally to be adventuring with an evil character, I think this is the first time, beyond some deals with the devil (aka Chauchesque and his black knights). Whee, moral quandries. :)

Had I known Parker Posey was in it, I would have gone.

She was completely channeling Minerva Mayflowerfrom Hudson Hawk for her character. My friend CSPariah says Sandra Bernhard should ask for a royalty check.
