Mercy will be inflicted upon you!

Possibly the most awesome line from Ginger Snaps Back, the prequal. This movie is awesome in the same vein as the other GS films, while being it's own unique little entity. It has a more than a touch of Brotherhood of the Wolf in it, a kick ass preacher, and hidden secrets. As well as the lovely Emily Watson and Katherine Isabelle.

If you like the other films, you will like this.

In other strange news, there is a promotional video from a trade show where my company was exhibiting. The neat thing is that it's set to this blippy, IDM soundtrack that sounds very much like Dryft. We're cooler than I thought we were.

I hated the ending of the second Ginger movie. It was creepy and all, but it wasn't about Ginger at that point and that irked me.

The character was interesting. A movie about that character would have been interesting. hijacking the end of Ginger Snaps Unleashed to make the ending of the Bridget movie was not at all interesting. I just felt rather betrayed by the film because by that point I was pretty emotionally invested in poor Ginger. I suspect that is in fact the reaction the filmmakers were looking for, but that doesn't mean I can't be pissed off at them for it!

I get somewhat spoilery here, so anyone who hasn't seen it and is reading should stop.

I think what really bothered me was that they didn't even show Ginger at the end. Even a shot of her shivering alone in the dark or something would have been better than not showing her at all for probably the last ten minutes of the movie (which in such a short movie is a rather long time, and thumping on the trapdoor isn't the same as having her onscreen). Even if Ginger is damned forever and ever without any hope of escape from her wolfy fate, I'd rather have seen her free to wreak carnage on the world or going out in a blaze of glory, a la American Werewolf in London. Ending the movie with a moment of Ginger making a choice to kill (kill Bridget, perhaps) and thereby losing the last vestige of her humanity would have been a better ending and just as depressing, if not moreso. Just my opinion though, I seem to be in a bit of a minority.

Man, i was warned to avoid GSB like the plague, but i'm a sucker for all things werewolf, and the comments on this thread are basically saying "seeeeeeee it! seeeeeeeeeeeeeee it!"

I loved the first one, so i'm rushing out today to rent the sequel. Thanks. Thanks a lot :P
