Rocking the Body

Somehow, I'm more awake after five hours of sleep after seven. Ah, the mysteries of sleep cycles, and the body. Last night I also made it to the gym, and started my new lifting routine, for endurance.

One word: ow.

Perhaps I should scale the weights back a little, but daaaamn there was a nice burn during those exercises. Thanks for the advice Digitalcheshire, even if my body is complaining about it now. Quiet body, you'll be thanking me later.

In other news, painting during my lunch break is a lot more satisfying and less stressful that shooting people up in computer games. Especially considering my skill at First Person Shooters.

So what's this new routine?

I've decided to say screw the workout filter and just post my logs in my journal.

hands any better?

I hate first person shooters

Some days I'm okay with them, but on others I keep getting shot after emptying entire clips into people. It's highly frustrating, and frustration I don't need during my lunch "break".

Painting is much more Zen. And there is definite physical progress when I'm finished!

Same basic weight sets, but instead of doing 3 sets of 10-12, I'm doing 2 sets of 20.

I'm also adding more lower back exercises to go along with my abdominals.

Pheel the burn!

(I should probaly have more 3's in th3r3, but screw it!)

My hands are feeling a little better. I'm keeping a closer watch on my grip on the bench press (which is the biggest worry) and making sure I use bars with padding on them for pull downs and the like.

Halfway through the workout I said "you know what? I need to cut these back."

Next time out will be the full on weight reduction.

Potassium and calcium would help you with those aches too. What do you do for warm up/cool down?

light stretching before hand, more stretching afterwards.

Oh no, another reason to eat more bananas? :)

The stretching is important :) Do you do any aerobic type activity to work the acid out of your muscles?

Oh no, another reason to eat more bananas? :)

'fraid so :) I rely on calcium supplements with vitamin D (to help absorb the calcium) and other green leafy things :)

i run, but on different days. I used to run, then lift. Perhaps I should do that on the same day again, but in reverse order?

If it wouldn't exhaust you, that might be a good idea. It would certainly help work out the lactic acid, so long as you stay away from the anarobic range of exercise (that builds up more..)
