Painting by day, parties by night
The mornings were given over to restful sleep, and lazing awakenings. Birds chirping, the breeze curling over my bed, the delightfully dry air. The afternoons slipped by as I sat in the study, applying paint and ink and paint again to some models I'm working on for the Grand Tournament in a few weeks. Inking and shading can be a pain in the ass, because you are in essence painting a given model at least 3 or 4 times. The end result is really worth it though.
The evenings belonged to more social pursuits. A tense and scary mage game started one evening off, which was immediately followed by a birthday party hosted for a friend of mine. There was more merriment the next eve, with dancing at a new club night and a Elven party. There were some seldom seen faces out on both nights, which made for a pleasant evening. Sunday night wound down in a mellow and satisfying way: making dinner for SilentQ (shrimp scampi over linguini) and watching the Boondock Saints. I could have sworn we saw the movie before, but her surprised laughter and occasional gasps of shock convinced me otherwise.
And there you have it: solitude and multitudes, hobbies and hob-nobbing. A well mixed cocktail of a weekend.
