jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)

The end is in sight!

The good news is, I have all my plot in place for tonight's Mage game. The extra time I have can be spent fleshing out descriptions, and providing that little extra level detail to make things memorable.

The bad news, I may only have 1 player for tonight's game!

At least the work is done. Perhaps I'll use the time to brainstorm ideas for future projects. RPG's, especially running games, always makes me feel good. This is something I don't have to change at all!

Under two hours to go until the weekend. The week started on a bad note, but had gone uphill ever since midweek. Last night I drove down to Providence to see Hellocatgirl. We dined on sushi at Sakura, and I really enjoyed the traditional low tables and shoeless dining area. We followed that up with Ronin, a film about mercenaries performing a big heist in Europe. Sean Bean managed to not die in this film, unless you count dying of embarassment. After watching this movie, I begin to wonder why people ever go into crime in the first place. The person you're bargaining with WILL try to kill you rather than pay you. You can't trust the people you work with (unless they are Jean Reno). And whatever you do, if someone walks up to you and asks you for directions, -put the pedal to the metal and vanish. Your partners will understand, they expected you to betray them anyhow and would have killed you rather than give you your cut of the job.

Oh, and cris? I know where you got the title of your recent journal entry from now. The map is not the territory, indeed!

and I thought Photiq was going...

It should be Mat, you, and Photiq. Which is more than enough to play!

Jean Reno broke your trust in Mission Impossible.

So watch out.

Sakura is great -- [livejournal.com profile] latemodel and I often go there when we're in Providence.

Also, I still need to see Ronin, but apparently parts of it were shot around the corner from where I lived in Paris (in front of the Bureau de Poste de Passy).

I love the fact that Sean Bean did Ronin and then went on to do Bravo Two Zero.

sorry again for getting bogged down and standing you up on Wednesday. I wound up not getting to Cambridge until 9:45 or so and wound up being late for a movie that I was going to see with Nicole. Goddamn Dell disk arrays.

also, what is the source for that saying? I've heard it hear and there but never knew if it was from a book or quotation or what.
