Yes yes yes!

It still thrills me when some asks me questions about something I half know (DNS), but I answer their questions based on things I've talked about with past admins, and my answers are correct.

The weekend was very low key, with a lot of angel watching and warhammer. The highlight of the weekend was attending a birthday party at a nice apartment down in Providence. As thrilling as answering questions right at work is, it's even more thrilling to find out people like you, when you haven't interacted with them much at all. We had some good talks, some strong drinks, some mind bending movies (the Thing and House of 1000 Corpses) and really really good trance (ala Christopher Lawrence).

Kurt Russell 'The Thing'? That movie amuses me so...hell, anything with Wilford Brimley in it gets extra points.

That's the one! There was a lot of twisted imagery in that movie, it's one of John Carpenter's better movies. Whenever he and Kurt Russell get together, the results is pretty damn good. Escape from L.A. nonwithstanding.

House of 1000 Corpses

bad, bad, bad, bad movie. bad. it could have been so good, but what was it instead? bad.

We watched it with the sound off, which I think helped it a lot. It was REALLY over the top, gory in a "hurts your head to look at it" way.

Heatray loved it. :)

Sound off would definitely be an improvement. It wasn't the goriness that got to me--it was that it was a lazy movie. If you're going to make a b horror movie, at least _try_ to be clever about it...

I did like Karen Black and Mrs. Zombie's characters though.

I'm glad you had fun at my party.

House of 1000 Corpses is an awesome movie! Even with the sound on. :)

It was definitely a good time. I'll bet Christopher Lawrence never thought his music would be backdrop for a horror movie. ;)
