My cube is a pit of darkness and despair

When I walk into the office this morning, I noticed that half the lights are out. The darkness is centered on the IT area. My first impression was that no one is there. As I walk to my cube, I can see Craig and Vanna working away, the only light coming from their computer screens. So now I'm sitting here, typing in the dark, occasionally turning on a desk lamp as I reformat computers.

How.
Very.
Goth.

that's when you know you've found a good place to work.

How long does it take you to get to work?

30-40 minutes. i don't get the nice drive that you do, though.

That's just it. It takes me about the same amount of time to get to work, but the drive is rather nice. It's very natural, very few buildings, and I get to go by Walden Pond. I thought I wouldn't like the long commute, but it's been rather nice. I've even come home from work with a smile on my face the last two days. Not the smile of "thank god I'm home" but "it's the end of the day and I still feel good."

awesome! that is a very important part of the job i think. i hated it when i used to dread my commute home. nowadays i see it as an extra hour and change a day that i get to listen to music and do some people watching.
