jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)

This was going to be a larger post

but Heat was longer than I expected.

Stayed in tonight, and unwound. There are lots of nice little perks about work, the only bad thing is that I'm still not settled and fully set up there. I did get my phone turned on, and have my own ID badge complete with picture.
I'm doing some computer repairs now, but I'm not in their help desk system. I could be keeping myself plenty busy instead of badgering them. I'm sure things will straighten out though. I think the first week has gone smoothly.

Okay off to bed. My dreams will be precious and wonderful tonight. Or else one of the mages in my campaign will die.

Just kidding!

so uh, how'd you sleep?

You'll find out tonight!

but Heat was longer than I expected.

I like that movie a lot. Great soundtrack, too.

(You do know that I'm not coming to game tonight, right?)

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2003-08-22 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes I know. Which means your character will be spared!

[identity profile] photiq.livejournal.com 2003-08-22 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Irony! The one character whose player is ready to see him go is guaranteed a bye into the next round.

Is immunity like a token that I can pass to another?

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2003-08-22 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps.
But then the dire question becomes: who would you give it to?

Hello I've just found your lj, mind if I add you :)

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2003-08-25 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
You can go right ahead!

I'm just curious at to how you found me, and what appealed to you. :)

I'll add you back, if that's cool.

[identity profile] franticnights.livejournal.com 2003-08-26 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
I did a search for people 'trying to be good' and your name 'you can't brood in beige' appealed to me :) I too have just started a new job, and would love to exchange notes.

It's fine if you want to add me back - I look forward to getting to know you :)

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2003-08-26 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Added!

I almost laughed out loud when I saw we had trying to be good, because I didn't think it was a common interest. Then I saw trance and dancing, and thought "this person is going to be all right." Then I read some of your other interestes and grinned. Just because.

My new job is desktop support for Sonus Networks. How about yours?

I shall be answering phone calls for a legal organisation and dircting queries. Sort of customer service type thing. It's not what I want to do for ever, but will hopefully keep me going until I find out what exactly it is that I want to do long-term (I have no idea at the moment!).

Congratulations on getting your job - sounds like a wkd opportunity. Oh yeah, and good luck getting an answer from Dell ;)

about 10 minutes after I finished my entry, I reached a tech. They said they would replace the part, but now I'm on hold again.

I want to call a company that has techno as their hold music! That way I can dance around my cube while I'm waiting.

I had no idea what I wanted to do either. Working with computers grew out of a tech job. It's good work, and I can do it. I try to fill my time out of work with other things: reading, dancing, acting, gaming. Things that make me feel alive, and fulfilled. Good luck on the job, your direction will come to you in time!

Lol, techno as hold music - now that is a good idea! Will have to compare CD lists with you - I'm always looking out for new CDs to buy :)
