June was pleasantly cool for the most party, giving us a mild opening to the summer. Now that we are into July it's getting stickier and warmer. Our lanlord has been very busy this year. He's redone the electricity for the whole apartment, putting a circuit breaker in our hallway and recessed lights in the kitchen. Next up he took out the radiators and put in a new natural gas system. Sara and I joked that if he redoes the windows, we're in trouble because he's going to sell the building.
He is going to upgrade the windows. I think there is still a lot of work he needs to go if he is going to sell, so we aren't too worried yet.
Sara and I had our ninth year anniversary as roommates. It's been a good nine years, but part of me is eager to move on, to share a space with someone who is more than just a roommate. I'm not going to just strike out on my own, just for the sake of it.
Fantasia is coming up fast, and I may have talked Nina (a friend of mine from the clubs) into joining our expedition. It should be a fine time either way, Im willing to give up a few movies to show someone around a new city. My other big trip coming up is Serbia, coaching for the USA Warhammer team. It's a good stepping stone for playing for the team, and next year the ETC will be in Prague. I'd love to take that trip!
The car situation is still in limbo. My next trial is due for mid August. I'm doing OK without it, but if no new information is coming I may just let the cards fall where they may and sort things out. I'm on track to get a new car in October, one way or another.
My 4th of July mini-party was rained out, but a few brave and wonderful souls stopped by. We actually grilled in the rain, had sangria, and watched some movies. A few days after that I had a date with Tanya (another club friend). We chatted over tea in Central Sq, then walked down to Harvard Sq. She's pretty cool, but she also has a boyfriend. That being said, she still wanted to meet up, and practicing for a date is always welcome. Speaking on that topic, if anyone who is reading this knows of any girls who could use an awesome man in their life, talk to me. :)
