The due date for list for the ETC has come and gone. My army is submitted, all that is left to do is practice and predict match ups. I got a change to test out my list last weekend at a small tournament in Plainsville. I went down 6-14 in my first game, then back up 14-6, and ended with a 20-0 annihilation of my last opponent. It was good enough to win 2nd place, and gained me some valuable insight to how my list should work.

In between rounds a thunderstorm exploded over head. We seem to get one bone drenching storm a year, and I always try to run around in the wet and weather. Something about it appeals to me on a primal level. I threw off my short, and wandered through the parking lot where the water was deeper than my sandals. LIghtning and thunder rent the heavens, and then in a flash it was over. I dried off somewhat and went back into the air conditioned store, which proved to be my undoing. About half way through my last game, I lost my voice. I also received a text from an old friend who wanted to crash at my house.

I made it home, changed and waited for her to arrive. We tried to look for a restaurant to get some food, but everything around my house was closed, I had no food, and I couldn't speak! She was feeling edgy from her trip, and ended up going back to a hotel she rented rather than stay over. I finished my night up at Sin O Matic and crashed on the couch which was to be her bed.

My voice has been on the outs for most of Monday. I broke down and got some cold medicine, which has actually helped with the cough, and my voice is returning. I'm hoping I'll have it back for my trip on Thursday. Despite my best efforts, I will be the odd man out on this trip, couple wise. I imagine I will still have fun, I do every year I go up. This weekend, Montreal. Three weekends from now, Serbia!
