The spirit of San Francisco lives on.

While I've chronicled my adventures in San Francisco, I've been having more adventures here in Boston. The day after I returned I helped celebrate a birthday and shared many tales of my adventures. I debuted one of my shiny new vests at Laced, and the results can only be called a critical success. Getting free shots was an extra bonus. Utter and complete tomfoolery was the order of the night at joint Mexican / Steampunk themed birthday party. The two themes were separate, but by the end of the night there was a fusion of goggles and sombreros, clockworks and fake mustaches. There were also light sabers, which didn't fit either theme, but were amusing regardless. My eating didn't keep pacing with my drinking (how could I ignore all those tacos?) so at some point I walked home from the party. My doctor's appointment the next morning was a transcendental experience, to be sure. The weekend ended with a long delayed, very cozy movie date.

Before a month had passed, I found myself on a plane to Akron OH to untangle a network problem, set up a computer lab, and roll out a phone system. I won't lie, the first day there nearly broke me, and I seriously considered taking the plane home and quitting. One late night dinner at the bar brought some perspective back. Say what you will about Akron, at least they know what Strongbow is! The next day was as good as the day before was bad. The lab was up and functional, all the phones were out and working, and everyone was on the correct network. I fixed a nasty virus problem, slamming the computer down seconds before my ride showed up. I flew out of Akron minutes before the storm, and within an hour of arriving in Boston I was surrounded by pirates and old friends at Xmortis. Plans were made and digits exchanged with a lovely pirate from far away Nippon.

Saturday we put on the breaks, sleeping extra long to recover from the stress of my journey and the celebrations that came after. A long put off Dollhouse viewing took place; it was short and sweet and I ate way too much dip. That was followed with Accidental Lobster; I had grabbed the wrong bag when I left Foodmaster and ended up with a lobster on my counter. It tasted good, but I learned that butter and sushi (or perhaps the sour cream from earlier) doesn't make for a happy stomach. I soldiered on at Nicole's birthday party (damn, a lot of your parents got busy in September!) My stomach settled, and I took it easy on the libations. Another great night of people watching and conversations were had, just the right amount of flirting, and zero levels of envy. I wrapped up the weekend with DND and Game of Thrones; that show continues to get better week by week. The Renly/Loras scene was a bit out of left field, but I guess George signed off on it.

Here we are! A ragged day at work on Monday turned smoother during our penultimate Deadlands game. My pirate was sailing other seas last night, so I called it an early night. My body thanked me generously for the extra sleep. The week and weekend are filling up quickly, excitement and adventure are in the forecast, along with a generous downpour of sweat from my return to the gym. The Me that went to San Francisco looks like he's staying around for a while. I like him, he can stay.
