I rang in the new year with a kiss and a smile! The Canadian Embassy hosted a cocktail party to ring in the New Year. Many old friends came from the wilds of Cambridge, Waltham, Somerville, and Arlington to craft artisinal drinks, eat cheese, and bring the noise. Over ten years with this circle of friends, and we still know how to have a good time! The vibe was just right for my mood that evening, and I reveled in the creature comforts of hugging friends and having my suspenders snapped. Saturday and Sunday were mostly quiet, finished off Arkahm Asylum for the PS3. My foray into the actual world of computer gaming continue with Dead Space next. After that I will start looking at my friends for my next purchases. I'd like to try this "online gaming" I've heard that kids talk about.

Monday was my first day back at work in about ten days (between holidays, snow days, vacation and working at home). I think that's the longest stretch I've had not working and I confess I enjoyed the hell out of it. I enjoy sushi dinners, movies, and regular paychecks too, so back to work I went. The new year is starting off quietly. We are actually looking to hire another employee, so if anyone is interested in an IT job, let me know!

Crossfit called for running last night, and I'm glad to say my foot is not killing me. I didn't do the routine at the full level, but it still kicked my ass, so I'm content. Workouts are supposed to make me stronger, not kill me. Ceremony got the year off to a sexy, sensational start. More friends came out of the woodwork. I had phenomenal conversations about transportation in the future, electric planes, the reason people game, and jazz in New Orleans. The demons and doubts were nowhere to be found, and I reveled in the closeness and comforts of my friends.

Welcome, 2011. Let's make some beautiful music together.
