My compliments to the bartender at Red Line for making me a vodka martini with St. Germaine instead of vermouth. That was one extra tasty cocktail, and a great way to cap off the bar crawl I was on. I even managed to squeeze out a little room on the dance floor to celebrate Tegin's birthday. Exhaustion once again got the better of socializing, but our journey from Christopher's to the Enormous Room to the People's Republic was well worth it.

All it took was something as simple as sitting down at my computer for me to pull something in my lower back. I was in quite a bit of pain, but I packed a bag and tried to catch the ferry to Specatcle Island. That failed. Twice. Limping and cursing under my breath, I spent the next two days pretty much on my back, trying to stay cool and actually touch my toes without pain. Two highlights out of the weekend: watching 9 on Blu-Ray, and lunch at Sel de la Terre. It really is delicious.

You'll find no complaints here about the heat. I spent the entire day in an air-conditioned office, and much of my walk was in the shade. I actually liked seeing the heat haze in the sky. I suspect my two fans will be working overtime tonight keeping me cool. Still beats February!
