last Tuesday: dinner with silentQ: lots of running around to get ingredients, but I pulled off a fresh stir fry, could have used a bit more seasoning. She brought over an excellent red wine, and we watched Ink. Beautiful movie, anyone who appreciates Neil Gaiman should like it.

Wednesday: Fantasia night, we watched Reincarnation. A Japanese actress lands a part in a movie about people who were killed in a hotel. The actress (and others) begin to relive the lives of the people in the hotel, as they are being killed. Fairly creepy, but it left a lot of questions unanswered in its quest to be creepy. The Japanese really love their "girl looking down with long hair over her face" shtick.

Thursday: Movie date with Amanda and Johanna! We made crazy popcorn (just about every spice in the cabinet), and watched Jennifer's Body. It tried to be hip like Heathers and fell way short. I blame the writing more than Megan Fox's acting (which is no great shakes either). It could have been much scarier. Johanna dragged us out to see the end of the Celtics/Lakers game. Now that was a horror show.

Friday: There were no movies. There was no going out. Just catching up with an old friend online.

Saturday: Busy times! Drove down through some nasty noonday traffic to Abington to test out the new Warhammer rules and witnessed a daring attempt at robbery. Note to thieves: not all gamers are fat and out of shape. Drove back into Boston to attend Ben's going away party. My steak tips were practically frozen, so I spent some extra time hanging out and chatting on the back porch while they thawed. They were worth the wait. Conversations and drinks flowed until it was time to head to Sin-O-Matic. Snagged free parking, danced much more than I expected, and got a surprise flying hug from an unexpected (but delightful) source. Amy, Eric, and Sandra came by for a mini after party, and we retired around four.

Sunday: Waking up way too early due to sunlight made for a long. slow. day. I accomplished some shopping and cleaning; Sara is away for a week and I don't want to place to devolve to a total bachelor pad.

Tonight I may actually make it to spin jam AND Ceremony, if I can squeeze a dinner in there.
