Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince did not disappoint. I watched it with a nice cross section of friends old and new, and our car was filled with spirited happy conversation on the drve back. There was a torrential downpour, I would have loved to be running around in it rather than driving.

Saturday I primed and based a new army (all prep work for when I begin painting), then it was off to another party to have fun with Electricity. *grins* The shocking good times lasted til about midnight for me, as some of the guests were falling asleep, so I made my way out to Sin O Matic for more dancing. I think my skirt is getting close to it's last legs, but I intend to see it out in style! A smaller crowd than expected, but once again the company was pleasant and graceful and sinful. The night ended with a new phone number from an unexpected (and much appreciated) source.

Sunday our pirate adventures continued, where were learned that there is no plan that you can't make more convoluted in order to ensure your success.

Work on Monday breezed by, and I headed out to Spin Jam. It's a nice feeling when people run across the field to greet you hello, and then later drag you over for rope dart practice. I'm really enjoying this new turn of events. I passed on a memorial birthday party for a fallen friend, and ended my night at THUD with some furious dancing. The music was really on, and I tore into the dance floor like a man half my age. The Crossfit training is really working for me.

This may be news for those of you not on Facebook! For the past month or so, I've adopted the Crossfit system of exercise in lieu of my normal lifting at the gym. I was pretty pleased with my overall build, but wanted to tone down a bit. Crossfit does exactly that, it's a full body workout that absolutely shreds you for about fifteen to twenty minutes. I do it in the morning now, which I thought would be impossible, but I've really taken to it. It frees up my evenings for socializing or other tasks. My friend JT lost seventy pounds and fifteen percent body fat over seven months. While I neither expect (nor desire!) such a drastic change, I can already see my weight dropping, and body changing. The exercise is even good for my mind; black moods have been fewer and weaker, and my spirits are generally high. This is probably one of the best things Ive done for myself in some time.

Trips to Montreal are in my future. Fire spinning and photos are in my future. It's a good time to be alive.

Oops.

One bit of bad news. My Rock Band drum kit may have given up the ghost. It no longer powers on, despite changing out the batteries. I may try to open it up for some exploratory surgery, but the more realistic outcome is buying a new kit.

See, everything isn't puppies and ice cream over here!
