I'm on a boat!
Jul. 6th, 2009 04:56 pmThursday night I took a three hour cruise with strangers and friends to celebrate a long lost friend's birthday. The cruise might have been more visually exciting if it weren't spitting rain, dense fog, and we actually made it out of the harbor. On the plus side, we were on a boat. There was booze. There were interesting new people to talk to about fire spinning and pirates and vampire movies. I pulled a bit of a bait and switch and headed home rather than continue the bar tour, because frankly I already dropped quite a bit of cash on the cruise, and I had a cookout to think of.
Friday saw more Crossfit training, and shopping for goods for the cookout, and general downtime relaxation. Oh, and quite a lot of True Blood.
Saturday was as bright, cool, and glorious a day as you ask for, positivly Elysian in it's glory. The cookout drew a nice sized crowd of people, including more of my fire spinning friends, so yay for that! After a long day of grilling and chilling, I skipped out for a bit of dancing at Underworld. Sparse but fun crowd (as usual), then back for more party action. While I was gone our shower curtain was torn down, our ceiling lamp broken, and my Rock Band drum kit died. Now that was a party!
Sunday was a long, languous recovery day. I got about half the house cleaned before my roommate woke up (at 3:30). She had someone stayed up until 9, utterly erasing any chance I have of outlasting her at a party. Mat stopped by for some bad movies and rocking out.
Today I return to the Regular Schedule. Things are quiet, almost too quiet. I managed to find the season two episodes of True Blood, so I can keep current with the series. Time to go home for a quick dinner (shrimp stir fry for the win), then Spin Jam and most likely Ceremony. Tomorrow mornig it's back to the Iron Mines for either Crossfit or my regular weight routine, then work.
