Over the past week, I've been mulling over the next leg in our Deadlands campaign. The players are on their way to Salt Lake City, which has the distinction of being the highest tech city in the gaming world. I've been doing some reading on Utah, the Great Salt Lake, steampunk, and Mormons. I don't know how long we'll be spending in the area, so I'm mixed about how detailed I need to be for the setting.

In addition to the specific research, I've also started tracking down music and soundtracks that are fitting to the genre Straight to Hell has some excellent music, but is pretty hard to come by. There are plenty of more recent options (Unforgiven, Silverado, Serenity) along with the classics (How the West was Won, anything by Enrico Morricone). I'm also inspired to start downloading pictures of various Western actors to put faces to the names of my NPC's, and help put the players in a more Western frame of mind. Warhammer has me feeling a little flat these days, so it's nice to find some inspiration and excitement in my first love, RPG's.

Any reccomendations of other Wester/horror related soundtracks or music? Good classical pieces would be nice as well.
