And let it burn!
Apr. 14th, 2009 04:52 pmFriday - Another long and off kilter day, but I made it to my Mage game and ran some interesting little scenes. I love and miss the old World of Darkness Mage universe. If I were a real Time master I'd find the time to run another game there. Club night festivities were abandoned in favor of watching Jet Li beat down Hercules O'Brien in Fearless (yes, my ancestor was actually in the movie. I have the family tree here to prove it, which I just drew on this post it note right now).
Saturday - Practice games for the Colonial this weekend (a draw and a win) and meeting up with Arash, one of my gaming friends from New York. I rounded out the evening with sushi, laundry, a lot of Rock Band with Sara, and Aliens. After I fell asleep with my hand in the popcorn bowl, Sara suggested I get some sleep. The next morning ,I realized there were several parties that night.
Sunday - Welcome back, Jesus! My mood was on and off again all day long, which was par for the course lately. Andrew and Kirsten told me they were going to burn in the back yard, and did I want to join them? It's been two months since I even swung my staff, let alone ignited it. I walked home to retrieve it, and practiced a few songs on Rock Band to get my head straight. About half an hour later I returned, we went out back, and burned.
I forgot how much I missed that first rushing gasp of the flame as it whips through the air. I dropped the staff twice and caught my shirt briefly, but I made it through. I now actually have pictures of me fire spinning (thanks Chris!), and I will share them in a bit.
Monday - Mathew has been jonesing for some Band practice, so we did so. I'm pretty comfortable with most bass and guitar parts on hard now (yay practice!) but some songs still beat me up. I'm certainly getting my money's worth out of the system so far! I made it out to Ceremony and just missed singing happy birthday to Patrick. Boo. The cake was delicious though. Yay! My shyness overwhelmed me and I couldn't talk to the girl I wanted to. Boo. I did have some good conversation with Lisa, including several rounds of shots. Yay! I get a second yay for not being hung over this morning.
Today: My king sized bean bag bed is supposed to arrive on Thursday. Now you can all stop making fun of me for my sad, flattened bean bags! My original plan was to take a second day off work, but my boss told me to bring a laptop with me and "work from home." My boss rules. Soon there will be tapas and sangria!
Someday I'll give each day it's own entry again.
Thanks for reading!
