A funny thing happened on the way to the T
Jan. 9th, 2009 04:45 pmSome poor woman was ignored by a 77 bus today, I could see her frustrated face as I stepped inside the 79. The bus driver shook his head in disgust. "No wonder people complain about our service," he said. We continued talking about irresponsible drivers and ill arranged traffic lights. The conversation shifted to his dislike of Joe Paterno, and how sick he was of his cousin talking about Penn State. Naturally, I had to inform him of my alma mater. He had the decency to laugh at his poor choice of words. I told him I didn't harbor any resentment, and we went on to more mutually agreeable topics, like the tastiness of the Penn State Creamery ice cream. Good stuff.
Shabu Ya passed the good sushi test: it's chef and fish were out on display for all to see. The rainbow roll I had was very tasty. Rather than go all out on the sushi, I tried a hot pot dish: boiled beef, vegetables, and udon noodles in a clear broth. Next time I think I'll get something with more oomph in the broth, but overall it was very tasty. Catching up on old friends was very enjoyable too, the hours just melted away as we talked. It's nice to find that some bonds don't weaken with time.
Sleeping has been a nightmare this week: literally. Just about every night involved various unpleasant scenarios. No zombies, or monsters, or aliens. The only monster there is myself; which is more disturbing really. I am not Mr. Hyde, I am not Mr. Hyde....
Home for cleaning, and perhaps company. Hopefully, a peaceful night's sleep as well.
