That is how you do it!
Oct. 20th, 2008 04:31 pmWell, that was a good weekend.
Start off Friday night with a journey into the unknown, flying wingman for Diamondsea. We attended a party in Cambridge thrown by a new friend of his, and found ourselves in quite the different crowd of folks. A commune lived there, ten people in a huge house. There was plenty of wine and cheese, and we made small talk until we found Diamondsea's friend. She introduced us to her fire spinning roommate, and after that we were set for the night! It did feel nice being in a totally new scene and feeling relaxed about it.
Saturday I put together a crazy, sub optimal Warmhammer list and won two games against decent armies with it. I just wanted to try something for fun, and it ended up being effective too. Who knew? The good times continued into the night when my roommate and I arrived at Sin-O-Matic. She was meeting an old friend of her and his fiance. Sara's friend wasn't a big dancer, but his finance wanted to try it out, so I got roped into being a "dance instructor" for the night. That role got upgraded to "bodyguard" later, as she was drawing some unwanted attention. DJ's Mothra and Shivar made it very hard to it down and catch your breath, but I share some of the responsibility for that since they kept playing my requests! Another fabulous time at my favorite night out.
Back to the gym on Sunday, then off to our pirate game. The game bogged down a bit with several of us playing multiple characters, but there was plenty of drama and close encounters of the deadly kind. I got to catch up with Heatray on the drive home, and just had time to meet Seth when he arrived for another visit.
I have a hunch this is going to be an interesting week,and I'm glad it's starting on such a high note.
