Fuzzy

My stories, alas, are short and... there. Made a quick stop at a dinner party with theamazingjb which I forgot to dress up for. I snacked a little, had some good conversation, and overhead some really pretentious ones. The nice thing about listening quietly is you can quickly identify which new people NOT to bother talking to. We headed out the Mass Pike to a housewarming party. This house is fantastic looking, with high unconventional design, basically a long continuous room that spans three levels. There's a great deck, a pool room, a hot tub, and lots of yard in the back with no neighbors around it. It is the ideal house for the people who live in it, and their friends.

I had planned to stay the night (as I often do when visiting them) but I drove home (as I often do). I was decided not in the zone. There were tons of people I knew, but I only had brief conversations. I didn't get to go hot tubbing (too crowded) and I didn't get to play pool. I did burn my staff, once. I only had one drink the entire night, and perhaps the party was much more the worse for lacking the liquid courage.

I really want a do-over on that night. I'll get my chance, in a way, as there are more social activities going on tonight. In the meantime, I'll at least fulfill part of my party plan: making french toast for the morning breakfast. *checks the time* Lunch, really.
