He who dares, eh? Go on my son!
Jul. 28th, 2008 01:26 pmDespite a bit of a late start, I made it out to Margaret's going away dinner, securing rock star parking just across the street from the restaurant. I haven't had Indian cooking in some time. Those little pots are bigger on the inside, I was almost unable to finish my dinner. Almost! From there I headed down to the Green St. Grill, and tried some very tasty cocktails. The Parisian orchid's were my favorite. From there theamazingjb, diamondsea, and myself wound through narrow back streets to arrive at a birthday party. Conversations were had about Romantic poets, disastrous relationships, and the quest to find a guy who didn't work with computes at the party (I think we found one.) A few introductions were made, and the night ended pleasantly.
Chalk up two wins in Warhammer on Saturday. I played well, and the dice were kind. Excitement for my new book next weekend is running high. Next stop was a trip out to Roslindale for a cookout. Some very tasty steak was had, though I'm glad I finished it before watching zombie strippers. Zombie strippers apparently act differently than normal zombies, and somehow make more money than regular strippers. It's too bad to be a good bad movie, but there are a few interesting special effect shots. Naturally, the Goth stripper is the first to be turned. I headed out and popped in to visit a friend, which later turned into tequilla shots and spinning poi in a park. A late, but very good night!
Lazy Sunday. Resting. Relaxing. Returning to our pirate game, where a surprisingly vindictive Brother Stone egged our crew on to victory. It was great to revisit our characters after a month, and our first encounter felt like a summer blockbuster. After the game Photiq showed me how the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 look side by side, followed by enhanced DVD v. Blue Ray on a HDTV. The difference really is stunning. Now to plan what to upgrade first: TV or console.
I reached a few personal goals on top of everything else this weekend. Call this a big fat check in the win column.
Tomorrow: the return to the doctor.
