Jul. 18th, 2008 03:53 pmWednesday crept along with thorny problems at work, a failed attemp to buy a red shirt, and general grumpiness. That was only highlighted by two very frustrating games of Warhammer. The theme here is continuing to be mad at things you can't control. I made my out later that night, just wanting to have a drink and a good brood, to get things under control.
But no, you would not let me brood. You assaulted me on the couch with your hugs and your boobs and wouldn't take "harumph" for an answer.
And so there was no brooding, but one crimson cocktail after another. There were two same colored shirts and limbs tangling together, and some blushing bystanders. There were new connections and plans for the future. In the end, there was even dancing. There were lessons to be had, a reminder that our biggest hurdles are often self imposed. Last time I removed them myself. This time, my friends gave me a hand. Both times, the evening ended well.
Lessons are good things if you learn from them. I'm taking that lesson and applying it to this weekend. Look for a report card on Monday.
