jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)
The Colonial was a lot of fun.  Jim's iPod was stuffed with great tunes from the 80's and 90's, and the miles just flew by while we played "name that song and artist".  I'm less up on the newer tunes, so I lost out on a free lunch.  On the plus side, I heard one of the best stripping songs of all time.  It's "supermassive black hole" by Muse, for any of your burlesque dancers out there.  Yow.

Friday night was a club challenge, against the best warhammer games on the east coast.  My game was full of shots of romanian moonshine (a hint of plum in that firewater) rum, and strongbow.  I think there was some  goldschlager at the end too.  We had a ridiculously good time playing.  He was sick later, and I was not.  WIN!

Saturday night we returned to Nagoya, for more incredible sushi.  Their presentation is very good, and everything from the edamame to the orange dragon roll was as good as anywhere I've been in Boston.  The rest of the night was spent in a post sushi haze, playing some poker and talking shop with the fellas.

I should have had a full night's sleep, but a passing storm caused my roof to leak, and I was awake all night long.  I faced sunday on about one hour's sleep.  The hotel comped our room that night,at least.

We wrapped up the tournament and headed home in record time, taking a beautiful scenic detour on 684 if I recall.  I placed marginally lower than I did last year, but really felt my game had improved.  The people I ran into thought so as well, so i think my next big event should be super rewarding.

Monday I had a follow up visit with a doctor at Cambridge Hospital.  My Xrays showed no sign of bone damage, and my left arm is completely fine.  He suspect some deep tissue trauma behind my shoulder, and listed a number of stretches and exercises for my PT appointment next Monday.  The healing can finally begin.  I also had a good night at Ceremony, catching up with my friends after the weekend away.

Fun times were had, but it's good to be back.
