salvage operation
Apr. 7th, 2008 11:37 amThe weekend was mostly made up of fail. Friday I tried to squeeze sushi and battlestar viewing in, but plans for sushi came together too late and would have overflowed into Battlestar time. Honoring my first agreement, I passed on the sushi (with plans for future dining) and watched the season premiere. I enjoyed it, though my suspension of disbelief was harmed by Baltar's cult. Did every hot woman in the fleet enlist? Considering it's Baltar, I shouldn't be so surprised. The Secret Four are going to have an angsty last ride. I'll save my other comments, until more people have seen it. Half fail/half win.
Saturday's training games dished out a couple of losses for me. I fled when I should have stayed, then stayed when I should have fled. File that info away under "learning experience" My favorite lunch was underwhelming, though the cute art by the cute waitress almost made up for it. I managed another trip to the gym before the club, and all my exercises were fine except for the dumbell presses. I may have to substitute something else in for them until my back/arm troubles clear up. I've contacted my doctor to set up a PT visit, but I don't know if this is the kind of injury PT is good for. Maybe a chiropractor?
Shelter: Good to hear Brad spin again, a slightly small but decent crowd, I went over my limit by one, but wasn't too bad. Strike that, I think it was too bad, because I ended up pretty withdrawn at the after party I attended. Saturday was definitely fail.
Sunday: just late for game. We almost made it through an entire session without any combat, which is damn rare for a DND game. Of course, had our negotiations at the dragon council gone sour, there would have been combat... albeit it very short and messy. There was nice RP moment when Brother Stone revealed he could now teleport, and moved some resistance fighters back to Jarinyanka in the blink of an eye.
I'm a bit on the fence about going out tonight, to poi and Ceremony. So far the day has been quiet, and I'm getting stuff done. If the mood swings up, I'll be out.
