That time of year has come again: we stuffed putty along the cracks in the windows (and sometimes whole strips of cloth) and put up the plastic on the windows. Perhaps this year I'll try painting some stained glass images on them. Dinner was a home made shrimp stir fry, with plenty for lunch the next day, and for a shrimp cocktail as I was prepping it! I ran into Arcauns and Kim the night before at Thai Moon, and they made some mention of Shelter. Originally I was going to stay at home and recoup after several evenings of Machine in a row. Those plans quickly went down the drain, especially after being house bound all day.
I was glad I went! The turnout was small, but there were several familiar faces, and decent music. I got to meet one of the new dancers (who used to work at Avalon with Tegin), and the bartender at the far bar (who is michael's roommate, I met briefly a while before). Combine that with some dancing with Kim as the night drew to a close, and chalk up another satisfying night out. Machine, you never disappoint.
Sunday was all about plowing through the Deadwood DVD's I had (for enjoyment and research). I'm almost finished with Season 1, I should be starting on Season 2 next week. Tonight wer are still sans practice space for poi, but some folks may be meeting at the Cantina for chat. Time permitting, I"ll go.
