Bring the rain!
Oct. 22nd, 2007 02:05 pmFriday night kicked off with a housewarming party for a good friend of mine. The place was cozy, despite the rain which fell heavy at times. I had a really good time hanging out, plying people with my sangria. At one point we tried to play Once Upon a Time in Mexico, but the CD was missing. I told people that Equilibrium was "Mexico, set in the future" and it proved an entertaining replacement. Later, spriggan and nimfe and I ran outside to play in the rain. It felt like I hadn't done that all year, and I raced barefoot up and down the street, as the rain pelted down around me. Definitely the highlight of the night.
Saturday there was (gasp) no Warhammer. There was a dinner with good friends from Providence (which game traffic made me late to, but not horribly). I made it Heatray's just in time to head back out to Machine. WHAT AN EVENING. An old flame came back after many months absence, it was nice to catch up with her. I made a music request to Mothra the night before, and Shivar threw it into the rotation! I danced and spun and danced some more, and good times abounded. I capped off the night at KHOP, with good company and insane Japanese game shows. I use my dancing icon for fun nights out, I may need a new icon for extra special awesomeness.
Sunday dawned, with not a hangover in sight, but a ravenous hunger that kept me from sleep. That was quickly tended to, then it was off to be (almost) on time for my DND game. I blame the doorbell. Another good sesssion, with a protracted running battle that left us poised to recapture our own ship! There were also big plot revelations, which is fitting as we swing into the closing chapters of our first season.
Work is proceeding smooth today. My copy of Deadlands d20 arrived, and it has doubled my excitement of running a campaign. It's one part wester, one part steampunk (a hot commodity right now) and one part horror. I'll be full digesting the game tomorrow, and soon the casting call will go out! In the meantime, I look forward to poi and Ceremony tonight with great antici...pation.
Come on out and help me put an end to my 37th year in Grand Style!
