jchrisobrien: (evil monkey)
My complaint has nothing to do with temperature, and everything to do with humidity.  There's too much of it.  I'll spare you the disgusting descriptions of what the humidity is like (because most of you in Boston already know).  It's made me feel tired and drained for the past three days, and it can go away any time now.

Friday night I convinced myself to join people celebrating Erik's birthday at Noir.  Several tasty cocktails were had, and I was caught between a very involved conversation between Nepenthe and Claudia (who has an LJ but I don't remember it).  I didn't have much to contribute, but I hung on and listened.

Saturday I made it out to Waltham, where a careless turn of movement cost me a game of Warhammer.  It was made more interesting by the power going out at the store.  We played by the emergency light, a lighter, and the dim light from outside as the heavens tried to wash the town of Waltham away.  Sadly I didn't get to play in the storm.  I was wiped out when I came home (thanks humidity) and took a nap before going out to a housewarming party.  I nearly slept through the party, arriving when things were in full swing at midnight.  I still felt a little out of it, but I did my best to be social.  It was a pleasant time.

Sunday I just got a load of laundry done before my DND game.  A swashbuckling good time was had (backed into a corner, my corsair/priest fended off a host of attackers before help arrived).  The heat sucked the wind out of my sails role-paly wise, and excess food exacerbated the situation.  This came back to haunt me later, since my leftovers leaked in my bag and ruined one of my gaming books.  Ew.

Slept in a little late this morning, left all my poi stuff at home.  I'm going to pass on class for tonight, as one of my gaming buddies is suddenly free to play.  It's been a while since I've been at practice.  I don't feel like I've been doing well at being social there, and Ive plateaued on learning anything.  Getting attention to work on new techniques hasn't been working well.  I'll try it again next week, maybe enough time will have gone by that they will think I'm a new guy.  I'll likely be passing on the jell-o wrestling at Ceremony as well.
