Black Magic was the warm up for the weekend. The night was sparsely attended, but picked up as the evening wore on. The sets grew progressively better as well. I almost didn't recognize Liz behind the bar, seeing her was a welcome surprise. I ended the night with cash in my wallet, a good sign.
Saturday I managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, with a couple of losses. One roll of the dice can change the entire game. I came home, hit the gym quickly, and raced over to pick up Hrisoula. We stopped in for some wine at Heatray's and then made it out to Sin-O-Matic. I was sad my friends from Providence couldn't make it, hopefully whatever came up wasn't too serious. The night was on, On, ON... and then I woke up in Heatray's office. The even wasn't a complete blur though. There was mad dancing, some flirting, and general overall good times. There might have been pancakes, I'm not sure. What there wasn't was dinner, and that my friends made all the difference. I ended the night with money in my walled again, a good sign.
Sunday (also known as Recovery Day) was quiet and uneventful. Our pirate game was postponed, so I watched the Black Dahlia instead. It wasn't as good as I hoped, not nearly as good as L.A. Confidential. The book has the potential to be interesting. There was sushi, but it didn't taste all that good.
I ran again this morning, starting week 3 of the New Morning Routine. Eventually I'll have that rush of energy that everyone talks about, but for now I'm pretty tired. I'll have to sneak some grocery shopping in tonight before poi and THUD.
