Friday night I got to catch up with Heatray. We talked about the state of comics and the games we were in, while patterns of light and color swirled across his vast TV screen. We departed for Xmortis in high spirits, and the night quickly dissolved into games of pool, red luscious drinks sweet as a concubine's kiss, and a sea of darkness and sound. Pale faces and bodies shimmered like ghosts and vanished, only to appear again. There was a brief appearance at an after party, but I was suddenly consumed by the desire to go home. So I did.
I was amazingly chipper the next morning. I mean waking-up-next-to-Eliza-Dushku chpper. No, Eliza was not there. I had some very successful test games in the afternoon, and came home to plot out my evening. I made plans for dinner with Mathew for my victory sushi, and then suddenly had an offer for more sushi with rishikanta, divinesight, and talesinsdaughtr. Who could resist such an offer? Surely not me! We ended up at Heroe's for more dancing. Well, as much dancing as one can do on a belly full of sushi, which isn't that much.
Sunday. Glorious sleeping in while cool breezes caressed my face. Dim light shining through the curtains. More dice rolling in the afternoon, mundane errands, and the second round of sushi with Mathew. Any weekend with double helping of white tuna is aces in my book, friends. Aces. This morning I woke up early enough to run before work. I hope this will continue to be a habit, the lifting parts of my working have been pretty constant, but I've slacked a lot on the running. I only ran 30 minutes, but it's a start. Running in the mornings, lifting after work, sounds like a doable plan to me.
