Hot and Bothered
May. 3rd, 2007 03:51 pmRagnar and Daniela braved the Boston traffic to meet me downtown for dinner at Fugakyu. I've gamed with Ragnar a lot, but I haven't seen Daniela since ManRay closed. Dinner was tasty, but our waiter incorrectly identified the white tuna on the menu. What I got was seared but tasty enough. Fugakyu, I've decided, is overpriced. You can get equally good fish at New Ginza or Oishi (better by some standards). The atmosphere is nice, but I'd rather have more fish, please.
We raced as fast as our sushi-ladened bodies could take us to the Boston Commons for Hot Fuzz. WOW was that funny, I mean multiple laugh out loud funny. I'll save any further discussion until more of you have seen it.
I rounded the night out at Crypt. It was a slow night, but picked up some around midnight. I was in more of a talky mood than a dancy mood, and that worked out just fine. There was talk with CouplingChaos about recalcitrant grooves and what was needed to get them started. Both of our grooves got a particularly good workout on Monday. The Down with Tempo night was jam packed with old and new faces. The good moods were infectious, and that's a disease I don't want a cure for.
Popcorn time!
