days go by, and still i think of you
Nov. 27th, 2006 03:13 pmLast wednesday I went to the Enormous Room to see a friend of mine dance, and to hear Copal play again. Check them out here There wasn't proper dance space, but lots of swaying room. Some folks did dance, and an otherwise decent dancer was runied by his highly visible thong. Yow. Copal themselves were fabulous.
Another year, another mountain of food. Thanksgiving dinner was the smoothest yet. The food took a little longer, but it came out delicious. There were lots of fine supplemental dishes, and mountains of deserts. This year was a little more social and a little less movie centric. I took my leave a little before the night ended, as my eyes refused to stay open any longer.
Friday night I took a chance on Avalon. Donald Glaude was spinning, and came highly reccommended by Heatray. The two of us and Tegin hit the clubs, and had a very good time! There was plenty of room to dance, the music was put together very nicely, though Don's microphone was barely on. His shouts to the crowd were mostly unnoticed. Still, it's good to know that you can get a decent night of techno dancing in, even on Landsdown.
It's also good to know that one should not attempt to glue anything together when you've been drinking.
Saturday and Sunday can really be lumped together. I played a lot of Warhammer (two wins, one dramatic loss), assembed some new figures, and didn't leave the house much. I attended a nice winter warmer, though. It was good to see people out and about, and see some new faces as well. We are starting to see more children at our parties. Zounds!
Another busy week begins now.
