Devdas is a classic Indian film about young man from a welthy family who returns to India from England. He continually pushes away the advances of his childhood friend (a stunning beauty and great dancer), yet when she is married off to another family he pines for her and misses her terribly (ass.) He spends the rest of the film getting drunk in a brothel, where a courtesan falls in love with him (a classical beauty and terrific dancer) but he pushes her away, calling her a whore and claiming to love his childhood friend (ass). In the end, he drinks himself to death, dying at the door of his childhood friend's mansion (ass). Bascially, Devdas is a dumbass. The dancing was very nice, the sets were amazing, and the company stellar.
Saturday I racked up two big wins in Warhammer, then hurried back home to help prepare for the Post Mortem Valentine's Day party. The guests were very prompt this evening, arriving as I was getting out of the shower. The evening soon tumbled down into a never ending swirl of sangria, cocktails, snacking, ninja photography, and culminated in an explosion of 80's music and Journey. Some fled for the hills, some danced (and didn't leave their friends behind), and I passed right out. I had a splendid evening talking with people, and put in a good six and half hours of revelry.
Sunday, hangover free,hair all bristly and Wolverine-like, jaunting out to a birthday dinner at Oiishi. The sushi there was amazing, and plentiful, but I still give New Ginza the award for the best super white tuna. I must try their sushi delux the next time I go. Amazing fish, and wonderful presentation. The day wrapped up with our Exalted game revelaing some secrets and posing more mysteries. Our group is really hitting their stride.
Monday was slow and calm, a full day of Ultraviolet and Angel with excellent, if subdued, company. After a day full of dip and cider, I called it an early night.
