jchrisobrien: (evil monkey)
long day of work complicated by lingering flu-like symptoms. Brightened up the day a bit by buying new pants and two new shirts for work, all under $100.
Wasted a LOT of time at home, didn't get laundry done.  Ate late, tried to mix a drink before the club and got the proportions ALL wrong, pitched most of it.  Shoveled out my driveway and a spot for the (lazy) neighbor's car, which damn near killed me.  Contemplated staying home from Ceremony.  Refused to let my crappy mood stop me from going out and seeing people (besides, I'd already broken a sweat, and I didn't want to do all that work just so my neighbor's wouldn't have to shovel out this morning).  Rocked out to AC/DC on the way to the club.  Listened to some tracks, danced a bit.  Was nearly elbowed twice in the first two minutes.  Danced two songs, sat the rest out.  Once again, the evening plummeted like a wingless jet.  One of my favorite songs came on and I Just Couldn't Dance.

And what the hell is going on with Ceremony?  I kept hearing these nu-metal rejects "whoop whoop"ing on the dance floor, and trilling like some Latin rock star.  Is this Ceremony or Avalon?  Was I on Landsown St. last night and didn't know it?  The music was good, the patrons were definitely not.

Mathew once said a club is only responsible for providing you a space to dance, music, lights, and a bar.  Enjoying the night is entrely up to you.  I think I see where the problem is.
