Well. That was kinda dumb.
After Vi saw the pictures in the bathroom, why did she stay? Are you that eager to become one more Polaroid? Is this some half ass attempt at revenge?
In class, she made the classic college writer mistake. Just because something really happened, doesn't make it interesting, or compelling, or a work of art. Storywise, "Fiction" was so obvious I stopped actively watching and started painting.
"non-fiction" was a trifle better, but not by much. Paul Giamatti continues to be annoying for me. Maybe it's the type of characters he plays: neurotic, limp, hollow men. He was better in Sideways, but also playing a very unappealing character. I thought the ending of the film was very happy, unlike the reviewer on the Netflix package. I wish "fiction" had as much depth as "non-fiction". Actually, I wish I just stuck with watching "Happiness"
This review won't make sense if you haven't seen Storytelling. Consider it a warning more than a review. Besides, if you're looking for funny movie reviews here, you're reading the wrong journal!
