jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)
I awoke after a night of cider and Angel, hanging out with two of my good friends. The air was cool and crisp outside, as I got dressed up to film my scene. A short drive brought me to the Issac Royall House in Medford, once the home of a rum runner from the 1700's. It was a little surreal seeing all that lighting and cameras in such an old house.

I had a blast with the shoot. We shot one scene, but shots were taken from different angles, with adjusted lighting, usually on two to three takes. The experience is very different from theater. Every action you do counts, and if you sneeze or goof up a maneuver, your wasting vaulable film. Both venues are appealing in different ways. I spent the last part of the shoot talking with the continuity editor about radio reproduction shows, and how radio dramas are starting to become popular again. It reminded me of the great night a bunch of us listened to the Orson Wells broadcast of War of the Worlds. About twenty minutes into it all the talking and joking had faded away, and by the time the ham radio operator was calling for help, we were all deathly silent.

So, yeah. Good times. Soon, I'll be a film actor, just like My Hero Da Zhuang!
