John Carpenter has made some damn fine movies.  Okay, some bad ones too, but still.  My roommate, theamazinjb and I watched Prince of Darkness last night (both of the for the first time).  There was lots of good natured teasing at first, but gradually the got caught up in it.  Carpenter builds mood and creepiness splendidly in this film. It's not as full on scary as The Thing, but 18 years later (it was made in 1987) it's still fun to watch.

In under an hour, I depart for Providence, then Baltimore.  See you all later, have tons of fun this weekend, and wish me luck!
