I've never been happier to waste a stamp.
Oct. 22nd, 2004 10:21 amToday was the day I was going to mail a very large check to the IRS for my taxes. There was going to be a slight financial bind resulting from this, but nothing I couldn't fix with a little frugal living for a week.
I'm pushing one of our grey utility carts through the lobby, to pick up an old computer, when I realize that mail pickup is a few minutes away. I rush back to my desk and grab the check, and see another envelope from the IRS in my bag. I open it and it says that I owe significantly less than what's on the first check.
A quick (only three minutes of menues and thirty seconds of hold time) phone call to the IRS confirms this.
The good news is that I get to hang on to a large chunk of my hard earned cash. The joyous news is that those of you attending my brithday party at Sirendipity's will benefit from my windfall. Share the wealth, baby!
Perhaps I'll post a more introspective post later, but for now I'll out line my birthday itenerary.
Friday night: the conclusion of our latest World of Darkness game, followed by delicious dancing at ManRay.
Saturday: sleeping in, and a Warhammer tournament in Waltham.
Saturday night: more revelry at Sirendipity's. If you are interested in coming, I can forward you directions.
Sunday: a dramatic chapter of our DND game, followed (hopefully) by movie watching and cider and company.
For those of you unable to catch me this weekend, you may offer celebratory libations on Monday or Wednesday at the local Goth clubs. Thirty five years and still dancing strong.
