Last Saturday, I competed in a summer Warhammer 40k finals. At the end of the day, I took home the awards for Best Army and Best Overall (winning the event out of 34 people). A friend of mine commented that for the past year, I'd seem more relaxed and less stressed about my gaming, and as a result I'd been rolling better and doing better. We remarked on the odd coincidence that having a relaxed, come-what-may mood about gaming has resulted in games that were more fun; focusing less on the bad dice rolls and more on the good ones, and a more even win loss record.
Now, I know there's a metaphor here for other facets of my life, a metaphor screaming at me in brilliant Technicolor. I get it. Rationally, Give me a little time to absorb it intuitively, m'kay?
