Crumbs of hope
Jul. 22nd, 2004 03:33 pmI talked a little bit with my boss today, and learned a little more about my lack-of-being-hired. Our company is in the middle of an audit, the major make or break point which will be tomorrow. Once that is (successfully) resolved, there will be some clean up work that should take another week or two. Then our audit will be complete and the company can start hiring people again.
My immediate boss has been talking to his boss, and now his boss' boss, about hiring me on. It's been on hold forever due to the audit, but once the audit is complete, management will be happy. And when management is happy, people get hired.
That's the theory. Whether it will actually happen or not, I can't say. I'm closing in on the record my co-worker held for longest run as a temp. In August I'll have been here for a year. By August, with a little luck, I'll be a full time employee.
And then, my friends, I am going to take a proper VACATION. It may not be until October, but it will come. Oh yes.
