jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)
Exhaustion does funny things to a body. It's not as much the tiredness of the muscles as it is a whole body shutdown. It's what a car that runs out of gas must feel like. You start running on momentum, and when that momentum ends you sink to the ground and idle. The brain shuts down and fixates on the smallest things, like clouds floating through the sky or blades of grass blowing in the wind. Your intelligence roughly halves until some external stimuli comes and kicks you into motion again. Usually that stimuli is another set of boxes to be moved, to be arranged with Tetris like precision into the back of a truck. Sometimes that stimuli is a glass of water poured on you. It's a refreshing, if jarring, way to get back in gear.

At the end of the day, there is the reward for your hard labor. Two of my favorite S words: sushi and Strong bow. We feasted like kings in the new abode of Cris and SilentQ, and I imagine it will look amazing once the piles of boxes and boards are transformed into shelves and entertainment centers.

Sunday saw the final funeral services for La Casa de Sangria. We swept through the house keeping any last minute items, and trashed all that was left over. I gave the house a good sweeping and wiping down, and turned in my keys. I'd have liked to sneak in around the 30th for one last load of laundry, but so be it. It's time to make a new history.
