Mini holiday update.
Dec. 27th, 2003 11:15 amHeatray and his Mom threw together an awesome collection of food for Christmas Eve dinner. I supplied the sangria, Rojagato brought the whisky ham. We ate until we were full, then tried to hold that food in as we subjected ourselves to Warriors of the Wasteland (Italian Mad Max rip off with buggery), Happy Tree Friends (so cute, so playful so OH MY GOD THAT'S WRONG!) and the Gamers. Ah, the painful memories of college. I can state for the record that we always had girls in our gaming groups, which earns us cool points.
The "Shaft from the future actor was Fred Williamson, with long and glorious career of blacksploitation movies, and he's still working today! Way to go, Fred.
Return of the King was awesome, except for the lame guys behind us snickering through the last half hour of the film. Indecenthamtard caught it with me, so I could have someone to lean over to and say "that was awesome" over and over again. Strangers, I've found, are rarely receptive to that.
There were plenty of rosy cheeks on Christmas eve, but it wasn't from the cold! Ladytatiana (assisted by the lovely Sarcasmchasm) hosted a swell Christmas night party filled with scrumptious take out (props to I/Steve for his homemade crab rangoons), superhero movie marathons, and the Goth trivia game (If you're dead, you're Goth. There were very entertaining questions, it's a good party game.) Oh. There was a large supply of sangria in there, too. I brought some. They made some. It was all consumed. Oy.
I recovered through a slow day at work on Friday, and a Mage game that set the stage for the big events to come. Now, I'm in need of a shower and lunch, before I get on the road to New Jersey. Tis the season for familial nightmares, but I hope to break the trend. Stay tuned for future updates, assuming my relatives have a wireless connection nearby.
